The Hilo Woman’s Club salutes Virgina Maeda on her 100th birthday

The Hilo Woman’s Club congratulates Virginia Maeda, a longtime member and past president, on the milestone of her 100th birthday.

Maeda joined the Hilo Woman’s Club in 1964 and served as its president from 1982 to 1983. She also was the newsletter chair for over 30 years.

She is the longest-serving club member, with 59 years of service, and the longest-serving board member. Maeda has been a great supporter of the club’s fundraising events and contributed greatly to the club and the community, volunteering at and managing the gift shop at the Hilo Medical Center for 36 years.

Maeda is admired for her tenacity, perseverance and commitment to living a life full of passion and doing good work wherever needed.
